Well, maybe not very high heights, but the elevator that’s built into this oven raises and lowers your food so you aren’t bothered with a door.
When you cook in a normal oven at home, opening the door not only wastes lots of energy as the heat rises out, but you get a nice blast of 400 degree hot air right in your face – ouch!
No longer is that a problem with the Gaggenau BL 253 Lift Oven. It’s a radical departure in oven design that utilizes and electric lift mechanism to raise and lower the food into and out-of the heat chamber. Since heat rises, most of the heat will stay in the cooking chamber which saves you money and will help keep the temperatures consistent. The oven is mounted much higher on the wall than a conventional design, so you’ll probably only see this in new construction, but it’s an idea that really makes sense.
The only question is whether you want to shell-out $3,300 for the Gaggenau BL 253 Lift Oven. It’ll take lots of batches of cookies to save enough energy to pay for that!
