Flashlight with a bazillion LEDs

A 100 LED flashlight
Well, 100 LEDs to be exact.

Common LED flashlights (or torches for you Brits 😉 ) usually have just a few LEDs which are focused by a reflector. This gives an intense beam which works well in small areas, but is not bright enough to illuminate large areas.

However, a company called Fifthunit has approached the problem from another angle. Rather than focusing just a few LEDs, they used 100 (yes, 100) LEDs arranged in a circular pattern. This option gives you a much wider area of light, although it’s less intense than a focused beam.

The mega-flashlight is only $20 and runs on 4AA batteries.
